Bonjour, Paris, here I come!

Paris, known to many as the City of Light (La Ville Lumière), dubbed as the ‘most romantic city in the world’, is not only a populous city settled in the beautiful country of France, but also known as Europe’s centres of major finance, diplomacy, commerce, fashion, science and the arts.

But what really sets Paris apart from other cities? Visiting Paris for the first time has taken me to a whole new level of adventure. The city and its structures are  as daunting and disorienting as they are enchanting. You may find yourself thinking hard on where to begin or what should you be prioritizing on your first day of sightseeing and exploring in the capital.

Most of the city is, of course, worth seeing and exploring. But especially if you're a first-time visitor to the French capital, there are a few tourist attractions that you'll likely want to focus on when you arrive.

A City of Love…

Few places do romance like Paris does, and every couple worth their salt will make a trip to the City of Love at some point. With a history steeped in romanticism, the city permeates love through its very pores, and there’s little wonder it’s cited as the world’s most romantic city.

From proposals under the looming Eiffel Tower, to scenic walks along the Seine and candlelit dinners alfresco, the opportunities for romance are endless and everywhere.

The Louvre Museum and Old Palace…

If you want to gaze upon the world's most extensive and diverse collection of pre-20th-century painting, sculpture, and decorative objects, The Louvre is the place.

The Notre Dame Cathedral ...

No first trip to Paris is complete without a visit to this marvel of gothic architecture, dating to the 12th century. Paris, and indeed, the world, mourned when it burned in April 2019. It is currently closed but visit the site and pay homage to this magnificent structure.

Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower…

More than any other landmark, the Eiffel Tower has come to represent an elegant and contemporary Paris.

This famous landmark since attracted over 220 million visitors, and just imagine  how hard it will be to think Paris without it. The tower crowns the Paris night sky with its festive light and glitters up a storm every hour.

It has also recently firmly entered the twenty-first century, retrofitted with solar panels and glass-floored observation platforms, to the delight of some and the vertigo of others.

It is also often a sole witness to people who choose this iconic tower as the right place to ‘pop’ the question towards their special someone.

Visit and gaze in awe at the Arc de Triomphe…

Visit 164-foot Arc de Triomphe commissioned by Emperor Napoléon. It was built in an age when leaders erected monuments in their own honor and scaled to their egos. The arc’s beautiful sculptures and reliefs commemorate Napoléon's generals and soldiers.

Take a Boat Tour of the Seine River…

Seeing some of Paris' most beautiful sites glide past as you drift down the Seine river is an unforgettable and essential experience.

A one-hour tour of the Seine year-round are about 10 Euros only, so be sure to enjoy this experience while staying in Paris.

Go at night to enjoy the shimmering play of light on the water, and dress warmly—the wind from off the Seine can often be chilly, so be sure to wear your high fashionable pair of jackets or sweatshirts.

The Mountaineer Jacket from The Glacier CoSpeaking of jackets, you may love to try The Glacier Co.’s ‘The Mountaineer’ or ‘The Parka’ jackets as well as other collection from this awesome website! There are lots of items to choose from too. From shoes to backpacks, beanies or hoodies to complete your one of a kind experience of visiting Paris.

I fell in love with Paris, the most romantic city. And my visit was an awesome experience, one of a kind and heartfelt appreciation of its vast architectures and stunning views! I also enjoyed remembering childhood days as I visited Disneyland Paris. What an experience I had, and I hope you get to visit this beautiful place soon too.

Till my next stop, always remember, keep adventuring!
